A Very Warm Welcome to new Guest Author..Jennifer Michelle Jones

first stepOne if my many pleasures running this blog has been to welcome on board Guest Authors who have their own special story to tell. What is even more rewarding is the fact that such authors are writing about mental illness and stretching out a supportive hand to others who are in need.

The first Guest Author on this site was JOANNR7, who, suffering from Agoraphobia, has found the courage to demonstrate how she sees life in her posts of Cutting, Driving, Every Different Path, Agoraphobia, National Mental Health Awareness Week, and Am I What They Say I Am; all of which I warmly recommend you read.

Now another writer has joined the blog. Her name is Jennifer Michelle Jones, and her story can be seen in her post. Hey There! I’m Jennifer Michelle. Such is the strength of the post that all I can say about her is, read her post, and enjoy her writing. I am sure more posts will follow from Jennifer, so keep an eye on this blog for her entries, and, if you so desire, support her, as I will do, in every way.

Yet there is more to mention, as over the next few weeks myself and Jennifer aim to launch two new FB Groups. One will be  group aimed at writers who write about Depression, while the other will act as a support group for victims of depression and for those who care for them. Please bear with us as we negotiate the stresses and strains of the Christmas Season, but we will try and get the pages up and running ASAP.

It goes without saying that all input, as regards this project, and the proposed pages are very welcome, so if you have any views, or wish to get involved, please do not hesitate to drop us  comment, send us a message by using the Contact form provided, or contact myself, Chris Wilson on chrisn@manx.net, or Jennifer on her links mentioned in her post.

That’s all for this post folks, but, if you have the desire or the time, please visit the links provided. Both Authors have a powerful voice, and in their own words, many important things to say

I hope you enjoy the video below

  1. Thanks for such an awesome welcome! I look forward to getting my hands dirty with this project. It will be a lot of work, but more worth it than any of us could ever put into words…no matter how talented we may be…

Praise where praise is due, that’s the maxim I’ve always worked on, as well as the reverse as well of course! I agree about the hard work element, but as you say, the worth will outweigh the work that we and others put in.

One thing we will have to make sure of though is to clearly state that we are not qualified experts, but plain and simple survivors who have learnt to contend, and sometimes walk out of the mire. Saying that we are experts in a way; we’re survivors who have lived and who are are living to tell the tale.
