writers in needOne of the joys of being a blogger is the fact that most of us can simply sit at our screen and type in whatever we want. We don’t think about is, and we don’t mull over whether something should be said or not; we just write and type.

Some of us are not so lucky though, and this is why I have decided to create a page called writers in need. I am not pushing any political or any other specific cause, as that is for others to do by their own volition, But what I am urging all visitors and bloggers to do is to just stop and think for a moment about how much freedom they enjoy and what it might feel like to have such freedom denied or taken away.

How would we feel if we had to hesitate before putting pen to paper, and would we feel;  so free and easy if we were constantly threatened with imprisonment or jail?

What if our words, thoughts, and reputations were destroyed and plagiarised, and in doing so we were denied the right to defend ourselves, or to reply?

What if our friends, families, and work colleagues were also victimised, imprisoned, or killed, simply because they loved us, worked with us, or wanted to be our friend?

Sobering thought, isn’t it, but can anything be done?. Yes it can, either individually or as  a group. I am not saying that all such persecution can be stopped tomorrow, but by supporting those who suffer under such intimidation, or worse, we can at least support them or at the very least be aware of their cause. Sp please, if you have time, support such victims. I have a dedicated page here, writers in need, and on that page links to pen-international and a Internationally renowned and acclaimed human rights campaigner and Poet Luzma Umpierre

Thank you for your time, and thank you for listening, Please do what you can
