Good morning, good evening, or good day to you, whereever you may be

I have the honour of representing this website, and I have been asked to represent the website in my own way. The question then arises as to what is my way. That is simple and, in a more detailed way, can be found below, but basically, I, like the website have a mind and voice of my own.

My name, give to me by my Egyptian anglophile owners is ‘Umpety Lumpety, but that is not my real name. Rather like those irritating creatures called cats that trip you up at every opportunity, we camels, especially us Egyptian camels of pure blue blood pedigree linage, have our own special name; and my name is Bastet Eshe Ain Salihah Talibah or Beast as my master sometimes cruelly taunts me.  Call me what you will, the choice is yours and I answer to many names but certain things must be made clear as of now.

I am independent, confident of my own views, but still happy to hear all other views around me and all I want to do is to chat with everybody who comes by me, and, if possible to offer them a chance for a bit of comfort, humour, and self expression before sending them on their way. So that is who I am and what I represent, but there are still a couple of points that need to be clarified before I go on.

I am a camel, a one humped dromedary Arabian camel, and contrary to popular belief, two humps are defiantly not better than one. Secondly I am not, I repeat not an obese egg that repeatedly falls of a wall, and neither am I some R. Dahlian style smaller sized individual who sings in a most annoying fashion, makes, and eats chocolate, and trots around a factory floor

I sorry to sound so emphatic but just you try hearing those jokes every day, especially when, laden with yet another obese American tourist, there is a sandstorm sneakily creeping up your nose. I have complained to the international Camel trade union, I have willingly dumped many a tourist on the ground, but up until recently no relief was to be found. Then I met Chris and his infinitely better half Miki, and all my problems were solved.

“We want a mascot for our website!”They pleaded with me. “One with character, one with style, and one that travel a long way”

How could I refuse such flattery, and so it is that I stand before you today. My rest day is a Monday so I will post an entry then, but please feel free to have a chat with me. My ancestors knew all the pharaohs of course so believe me I’ve one or two very juices stories to tell. By for now folks, see you in a weeks’ time.

P.S what do you think of my appearance by the way? This is by best side, so I’ve been told, and I believe I look rather fine
